1/10 (a tenth) of all you earn you tithe - or give back to God in your own way remember it pays to be a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7(NIV)
1/10 (a tenth) of all you earn you save - okay this was an extremly hard one until i realized it is true i never give myself or keep for a rainy day now that was painful..i have had a few experiences that teach you that having that extra something tacked somewhere is not such a bad thing. the bible does have quite a bit to say about this
Proverbs 21:20 The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.
Proverbs 13:11(NIV) Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
2/10 (2 tenths) of all you earn you pay debts - this was a nice one. the bible and paying of debts
Romans 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law
Romans 13:7-8 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed. Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
and finally
6/10 of what you earn is for spending on house hold issues of pay for your living.
Now for a mathematical example ...suppose you earn 7,000ksh
1/10 = 700ksh of which you tithe or give to charitable causes
1/10 = 700ksh of which you save (and invest later in a profitable venture)
2/10= 1,400 ksh of which you pay creditors
6/10= 4200 ksh of which you pay for family issues like fees, rent, food and transport
remember its not always easy but a disciplined mind finally gets there.
